Painting sites built to win the comparison: real before-and-afters, the prep explained in plain words, and lead-safe practice named for any home built before 1978.

Booking

How they book.

Painting is one of the easiest trades to compare. A few painters can quote the same room, so the photos, the prep explanation and how fast the estimate arrives decide it, not the paint itself.

  1. 01

    The job

Interior or exterior, home or business, and for an older house, whether lead paint rules apply. They want to know fast whether you do their kind of job before they read anything else.

  2. 02

    The comparison

They compare a few painters on photos, reviews and how clearly each one explains the prep, since a rushed prep job is the complaint that sends people looking for someone else next time.

  3. 03

    The estimate

They book a walkthrough or send photos for a quote, and want help choosing a color before they commit, not after the first coat is already on the wall.

On the site

Must haves.

Six things a painting website has to get right.

  • Inside and out

Separate pages for interior and exterior work, each with your own before and after photos. The two jobs are judged on different things, so one page trying to cover both convinces neither visitor.

  • Lead-safe prep

Patching, sanding, priming, covering floors, in plain words: prep is what people worry a painter will rush. On any home built before 1978, say that your firm is EPA lead-safe certified once a job disturbs more than six square feet of interior paint or twenty square feet of exterior paint.

  • Paint and color

The brands and lines you use, whether you match existing color, and whether you help someone choose one. Naming the paint says you are not cutting corners on materials.

  • Estimate form

Rooms or square feet, a few photos, and when they want it done.

  • City rules

    License number

Your license number in the footer of every page, where people check it. New York City and California require the number in their ads.

  • Commercial, too

If you paint offices, shops or apartment buildings, give that its own page. A property manager reads a different page than a homeowner picking a wall color.

Seasons

When it moves.

Exterior work follows the weather. Interior work does not. The site should say which season needs which path, not run one page for both.

Mild window

Summer heat

JFMAMJJASOND
  • Mild window

April to May and September to October

Exterior paint cures best with the air between about 50°F and 85°F and humidity under 70%. That window usually lands in spring and early fall, not the dead of summer or a frozen morning.

  • Summer heat

    June to August

Above about 85°F, paint can dry too fast on the surface and trap solvents underneath, blistering before it ever cures right. Say if you move exterior jobs to early morning once the forecast runs hot.

  • Interior, any month

Interior work does not wait on the weather, so it is what fills the calendar through the cold months and the heat alike. Say plainly that you book interior jobs year round.

Proof to show

What to show.

What a painting site should publish, so people can check it before they call.

A hand holding a paint roller loaded with pale paint against a plain white wall
  • License and insurance

Your license where the state requires one, and proof of insurance, visible on the page, not just promised on a call. California licenses painting contractors under CSLB C-33; many other states set no state painting license at all, so say plainly what you carry.

  • Lead-safe certified

If you work on homes built before 1978, say your firm holds EPA (or state) lead-safe certification. It is federal law once a job disturbs enough paint, and naming it answers a question a careful homeowner already has.

  • Real jobs, named

Before and after photos from real jobs, with the town named, not a stock gallery. It is proof the work in the photos is actually yours.

Does my license number have to be on my website?+

In some places it does. For painting work, New York City and California put the license number in every ad, and the safe reading is that your website is one. Each rule is linked to its source, on this page or its city page. Checked 2026-10-05. Not legal advice.

Does the EPA lead rule reach my own site?+

If you ever work on a home built before 1978 and the job disturbs more than six square feet of interior painted surface or twenty square feet of exterior painted surface, yes: your firm needs EPA (or state) lead-safe certification, with a certified renovator assigned to that job. Say so plainly on the prep page. It answers a worry a careful homeowner already has.

What does a website cost?+

A website project starts at $5,000, one time. The monthly plan is $2,500 a month with the build included, plus GEO, upkeep and email marketing, with a 3-month minimum. Either way, you see a free demo of your new site in 48 hours first, and pay nothing until it is delivered.

Will a new site get me more calls?+

It is built to help. Clear pages for the jobs you want, your license and the towns you cover can help more of the people who find you pick up the phone. Nobody can promise a number of calls, and we will not.
