City · NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP)
Remodeling a home in the five boroughs needs a DCWP home improvement license, and every ad carries its number.
“Advertising must include the home improvement contractor's DCWP license number.”
What it covers
“A person or business must have a DCWP Home Improvement Contractor License if engaged in the construction, repair, remodeling, or addition to any land or building used as a residence.”
On your website
Put the number in the footer of every page and beside every quote form, under the business name it is issued to. Read every page as an ad: that is the safe reading of these rules.
