Railing
estimates, booked.

A railing estimate needs a site visit: the run, the posts, what they mount into. Booking puts that visit on your calendar with the photos and lengths already in hand.

Unready-deck measures

You drive out and the deck boards are not down or the stair treads are not in. Measuring now means measuring twice.

Ladder phone tag

The installer is up a ladder, the homeowner is at work. Days of missed calls go by before anyone agrees on a time.

Lost GC walkthroughs

A GC wants to walk the balconies this week. The message lands in a voicemail between two homeowner calls.

Measure days

A week at a sample rail shop around its install days, the same requests twice: first by text tag, then asked if the deck is ready and given a time.

Example week of a sample railing shop's calendar, with 24 requests in both versions. Before: 6 visits booked, 25% of requests, 2 trips made before the decking was down, and no reminders. After each request is asked the material, stairs or level and whether the surface is finished on a booking page and given a time, with a GC walkthrough sent straight to the owner and a text the day before: 14 visits, 58%, 1 trip too early, and 14 reminders sent.

Before Text tag around installs, and two trips where the decking wasn’t down.

  1. Before: Text tag around installs, and two trips where the decking wasn’t down.
  2. Questions: Same request, asked first: material, stairs or level, is it ready.
  3. Picked: Nell picks Thursday at 8:30, and the measure lands before an install.
  4. Filled: Measures fit around install days, and a GC walkthrough goes to Wes.
  5. Reminded: The day before, each visit gets a text.
  6. Report: More requests reach a measure, and fewer measures come too early.

What you get

  • Online booking for site measures, tied to your calendar
  • Questions first: material, run length, stairs or level, what it mounts into, photos
  • A ready check: decking, treads and finished floors in before you measure
  • Reminders and a one-tap reschedule for the customer
  • GC requests flagged and sent to you directly

The cycle

Booking closes Prospect for a rail shop: a quote request becomes a site measure on the day the job is ready for it.

  1. Lead

Everything that gets you a lead.

More people find you and reach out.

  2. Prospect

    Turn interest into a sale.

More of them say yes, and you never chase.

  3. Client

    Keep the job moving.

Jobs run on time, with less of you managing them.

  4. Kept or closed

    What happens after the job.

Finished work brings in the next job.

  5. Growth

Feed it back into the machine.

Every finished job helps bring the next lead.

Then it starts again.

CRM: Customers, conversations, bookings, jobs and employee tasks in one place, across all five.

Your questions

How do railing estimates work?

Most shops visit to measure the run, check the posts and the mounting surface, and talk material and finish. The written estimate follows. Photos and rough lengths before the visit make it shorter.

When should railings be measured on a new deck or stair?

After the decking, treads and finished floors are in, so the heights are real. A guard has to meet code from the finished surface, and measuring earlier means guessing it.
