ChatGPT for
electricians.

A homeowner asks ChatGPT whether their old panel can take an EV charger and whether they need a permit. Then they ask who does it nearby. It can only name electricians whose sites explained it.

Electrical permit questions

Does a panel upgrade need a permit? Who pulls it? Homeowners ask an engine, and the answer comes from a city page or a forum, never from you.

Charger credit confusion

Homeowners still ask about the federal EV charger credit, which ended for chargers placed in service after June 2026. A site that still advertises it gives an engine, and a customer, the wrong answer.

Electrical warning signs

Flickering lights, warm outlets and tripping breakers are what homeowners ask about. A page that says when it is an emergency is the kind an engine quotes.

The charger question

A sample electrician, one question asked twice, six monthly checks apart.

Example of a sample electrician, Vessendale Electric, on an AI answer. Before: asked “Who installs a Level 2 EV charger near Rookfield?”, the answer names two other electricians, and the shop’s page is read but not cited because “No job is too big or too small” says nothing specific. After the page and listings are fixed, the same answer names Vessendale Electric, quotes its line “We check the panel’s load before we price a charger.” and cites its page. The sample monthly check moves from 3% to 33% of 90 sample answers, and some questions stay out of reach.

Asked A new EV on order. A homeowner asks who installs chargers near Rookfield.

  1. Asked: A new EV on order. A homeowner asks who installs chargers near Rookfield.
  2. Answered: Two electricians get named. Vessendale isn’t one of them.
  3. Why: “No job is too big or too small” gives an answer nothing to quote.
  4. Fixed: The load check, the permit and the rebate office go on a page. One name everywhere.
  5. Named: Asked again, the answer lifts Vessendale’s line on the load check.
  6. Checked: “Electrician open tonight” stays out of reach. The charger questions don’t.

What you get

  • Answer pages in homeowners’ words: can my panel take a charger, do I need a permit, what a whole-home generator needs
  • A dated page on EV charger credits and rebates, pointing to the IRS and your state energy office
  • Your license, service area and hours the same on your site, Google and Yelp
  • A monthly check of what ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity say when asked for an electrician in your towns

The cycle

Answer engine work sits in Lead beside SEO: one set of electrical answers that Google can rank and ChatGPT can quote.

  1. Lead

Everything that gets you a lead.

More people find you and reach out.

  2. Prospect

    Turn interest into a sale.

More of them say yes, and you never chase.

  3. Client

    Keep the job moving.

Jobs run on time, with less of you managing them.

  4. Kept or closed

    What happens after the job.

Finished work brings in the next job.

  5. Growth

Feed it back into the machine.

Every finished job helps bring the next lead.

Then it starts again.

CRM: Customers, conversations, bookings, jobs and employee tasks in one place, across all five.

Your questions

Can ChatGPT recommend an electrician?

It names local electricians when asked, from pages and reviews it can read. Nobody can buy that spot. Plain answers on your site about permits, panels and chargers give it something accurate to say about you.

Is the federal EV charger tax credit still available?

Not for new installs. The IRS page says the home credit covered chargers placed in service through June 30, 2026. Send customers to the IRS page and their tax adviser, and check your state for rebates.
