Glass and glazing
business marketing.

A homeowner with a foggy double pane calls three glass shops. The first one to answer with a time usually gets the job. We set your shop up to be that one.

Pane price calls

The phone rings with how much for a window pane before anyone has measured. Your counter answers it all day, and the caller hangs up to try the next glass shop.

Foggy unit photos

A seal-failed IGU arrives as one blurry photo. No glass size, no frame, no word on low-E or tempered, so a tech drives out just to measure.

Unchased glass quotes

Quotes for patio door glass and tabletops go out from Smart Glazier or a spreadsheet, and nobody calls back. The homeowner who wanted to think hires whoever followed up.

Midnight board-ups

A broken slider or a smashed shop window at midnight needs a board-up crew. When that call reaches voicemail, the property manager tries the next glass company on the map.

One reglaze

The same repair order at Quillmoor Glass, a sample glass shop, run twice: first a PDF in the counter inbox, then a job that takes the elevation, gets the scope answered and follows up the quote. The field measure stays the tech’s, marked on the PDF.

Example job record for Quillmoor Glass, a sample glass shop: a repair order from a property manager for a boarded strip-center front, with a 48 hour quote clock. In the counter inbox the first reply takes 1 day, the quote goes out 5 hours after the due date, nobody follows up and no answer comes back. On the job record the elevation comes in through the site form, a first reply goes out in 3 min and the request passes straight to the counter. Three scope questions come back with site photos. The tech measures the front and marks the PDF, 11 openings, and the counter sends a quote of $11,570 with 24 hours left. Two follow-ups go out and stop when the manager approves the job. Glass is ordered, the crew gets the sizes and photos, quoting stays in Smart Glazier, and a review request follows the install.

Inbox A PDF in the counter inbox. The due date goes by and nobody follows up.

  5. Follow-up: The quote goes out with 24 hours left, and the follow-up stops when Ostlow answers.
  6. Hand-off: Sizes and photos go to the crew. Quoting stays in Smart Glazier.

Less Work

Size, glass type and photos arrive with the request, so the counter stops asking for them.

Less Time

Techs measure jobs that are ready to quote, not ones that were never coming.

More Sales

More of the repair calls you already get can end in a booked visit.

What repairs earn.

Your questions

Do glaziers install windows as well as glass?

Many do. A glazier replaces the glass in an existing frame, and many glass shops also install whole replacement windows and patio doors. Say on your site which you do, because homeowners search for both and call the wrong shop when it is unclear.

Is owning a glass business profitable?

It can be, and repair work is a big reason: it is quick, local and usually paid on completion. Margin leaks when techs drive out to measure jobs that never book and quotes sit with no follow-up. Those two leaks are what we work on first.

Do glaziers make mirrors?

Most glass shops cut and install mirrors: bathroom, gym and closet walls, cut to size with polished edges. It is steady work that homeowners rarely know you do, so it deserves its own page.
