Storefront and
curtain wall marketing.

Your bid work comes through GCs and Division 08 packages. Your fastest cash comes from a storefront door that will not latch on a Tuesday. We build the path for both.

Prequal packet chase

Every GC wants the same packet in a new form: COI, bonding letter, EMR, safety program, references. It goes out by email, and nobody can find the latest copy.

Submittal weeks

Shop drawings and submittals for one curtain wall job eat the same weeks you should spend bidding the next one.

Retainage-held margin

Retainage and slow pay apps hold your margin for months after punch. Storefront door service pays in days, and nobody markets it.

Approved-equal losses

The spec names a Kawneer system or approved equal. Without project photos of that system installed, the GC leans to the glazier who can show one.

One bid invite

The same Division 08 invite at Quellbrook Glazing, a sample contractor, run twice: first an email in the bids inbox, then a job that takes the bid set, gets approved equal and hardware answered, and follows up the quote. The takeoff stays the estimator’s, in Bluebeam Revu.

Example job record for Quellbrook Glazing, a sample commercial glazing contractor: a storefront bid invite from a general contractor with a 96 hour bid clock. In the bids inbox, the first reply takes 3 days, the quote goes out 5 hours after the bid date, nobody follows up and no answer comes back. On the job record, the bid set comes in through the site’s upload, a first reply goes out in 6 min and the invite passes straight to the estimator. Approved equal, door hardware and finish come back with site photos. The estimator does the takeoff in Bluebeam Revu and attaches the marked PDF, 11 openings, and sends a quote of $26,050 with 52 hours left. Two follow-ups go out and stop when the contractor awards the job. Sizes, finish and hardware go to the project manager for shop drawings, and a review request follows punch.

Your questions

What does storefront mean in construction?

An aluminum framing system that holds glass and entrance doors at street level: shops, lobbies, offices. It fills an opening from the floor to the head, and its spec usually sits in Division 08 beside entrances and curtain wall.

How are storefront windows installed?

Shop drawings and a field measure come first. Then the installer sets the sill flashing and the frame, anchors it at the head and jambs, sets the glass with gaskets or glazing tape and seals the perimeter. Each system maker publishes its own instructions.
